Jimmy Kimmel Introduces Time Magazine’s Alternate Person of the Year

Radically redefining the perception of the 2,000-year-old Catholic Church, Pope Francis was selected as Time Magazine’s Person of the Year on Wednesday (December 11). However, that’s not the story that Jimmy Kimmel told people.
On the most recent episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the talk show host took advantage of those who didn’t keep up with the news, saying, “There are always people who don’t keep up on current events, so I thought it would be fun to send our camera out on Hollywood Boulevard today to find out what people think about Time’s Person of the Year.”
He continued, “We did not tell them the Person of the Year was the Pope,” Kimmel said. “In fact, we told them it was other people.”
Jimmy had a group of cameramen tell the people of interest that the mag’s main icon was “Keeping up with the Kardashians” matriarch, Kris Jenner.
One of the interviewees said, “I think Kris is an amazing businesswoman with a really good head on her shoulders.”
Another passerby stated that, “She has hustled her way this year. She is a household name. Everybody knows her. She has just been on everything and everywhere, so I think Person of the Year would be a good accolade for her.” The joke was on them, and although Kris wasn’t truly on the magazine, she may still be in the running for the 2014 list.
