LADY Gaga has claimed she was "betrayed"

LADY Gaga has claimed she was "betrayed" by those around her in recent months, delivering an emotional message to her fans.
The singer has even begged her followers for forgiveness and claims that the campaign for her current album ARTPOP has been "gravely mismanaged".
Taking to her own "Little Monsters" social network earlier this week, Gaga fielded questions about the lack of a video for her current single, Do What U Want, despite the song having been released almost three months ago. Since then, she has teased pictures from the set of the Terry Richardson-directed clip but refuses to say when it will be ready.
Gaga also pleaded with fans to give her - and the underperforming ARTPOP album - another chance.
"Give me a chance to show you the meaning of seeing art all around you. Open your hearts to me again that I may show you the joy of us coming together through our talents, that we are stronger as a unit than when we are alone. Let me be for you the Goddess that I know I truly am, let me show you the visions that have been in my mind for two years. I love you. Forgive me monsters. Forgive me ARTPOP. You are my whole world."
There's no denying ARTPOP has been a flop by Gaga's high standards. The album sold 258,000 copies in its first week in the US, compared to the 1.1 million opening week sales clocked by her previous album, 2011's Born This Way.
Here in Australia, the downward trend is even more apparent: ARIA this week released the year-end rankings for the singles and albums of 2013, and Gaga's single Applause was the 93rd-highest selling track of the year, and ARTPOP was the 72nd highest-selling album.
By contrast, Gaga's chart rival Katy Perry, who released her album and single at around the same time, scored the year's highest-selling single and second-highest-selling album.
