The Tallahassee Police Department and the Tallahassee Fire Department are responding to a crime scene at the upper floor of a building on College Avenue near Adams Street, according to Dave Northway, public information officer for TPD.A fire ladder is reaching to the floor above Randazzles, a hair salon. There is also a forensics truck on scene.
Authorities have College Ave. closed between Adams St. and Duval St. The details of what kind of crime scene have not been released yet.
Update:10:45 a.m.
Tallahassee Police Department spokesman Dave Northway said he doesn't know when he will get the details of the crime scene. He has not spoken with the media yet.There are two spokesmen on scene, one for the fire department and one for the police department as well as a legal advisor. Investigators with orange gloves are walking in and out of the front door of a building on the south side of College Avenue. Other investigators are walking through the nearby alleyway.
11:24 a.m.
Tallahassee police confirm they have found a body on the upper floor of a building on College Avenue near Adams Street, according to Dave Northway, public information officer for TPD."I can confirm at this time that we have located a body we're currently working that body," Northway said.
"We are not going to be able to give any more information at this time." Police are waiting on the medical examiner to identify the body.
Police have not provided any further information.
It’s the same area of downtown Tallahassee where 23-year-old former Florida State student Ryan Uhre was last seen Feb. 2. He was officially reported missing Feb. 7 by FSU Police Department. Tallahassee and South Florida police have been investigating his disappearance since. To be clear: police have not connected this crime scene to the Uhre investigation.

Tallahassee police confirm they have found a body on the upper floor of a building on College Avenue near Adams Street, according to Dave Northway, public information officer for TPD.Police were called out to the scene at 8:30 a.m. The investigation is active and ongoing, Northway said.
Northway could not say whether the body looked injured or even whether it's male or female.
Police work all unattended deaths as a homicide.
Investigators have been coming in and out of the building next to the hair salon Randazzles all day.
Investigators are also looking in the alleyways next to the building. Northway could not say whether the building was abandoned or who owns it.
Northway said more information will be available soon.
